Every Monday there is a farmer’s market in Middleton Park until 1PM. Middleton Park is a 5 minute walk from the house.

North Carolina is plentiful with delicious fish and shellfish.

You can pick up fresh fish to cook at Haag & Sons or Pelican Seafood.

If you’d rather eat out we recommend Swain’s Seafood, KoKo Cabana or The Lazy Turtle.

Every Friday during the summer there’s free live music in Middleton Park from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. Take a chair and a beer and enjoy the good times!

Bring your own fishing gear or rent it at Oak Island Pier.

You can do pier fishing at Oak Island Pier. There is also great surf fishing on the beach, or some canals on the island that are great for crabbing.

Oak Island is a fun place to shop! Whether you’re looking for a bargain at the Tanger Outlet’s in Myrtle Beach or seeking out a handcrafted piece of art, Oak Island has it.

There are tons of great galleries full of local art and gifts as well as fantastic consignment shops.

A couple of our favorites are Blue Crab Blue giftshop and Barn And Beach Consignment.

No beach trip is complete without a hot and sweaty night of putt-putt! There is exactly 1, putt-putt course on the island, Oak Island Jungle Golf, with ice cream and an arcade.

If some real clubs are your thing there is plenty of golf to be played as well.

There are plenty of rental companies on the island for golf carts, bicycles, and any water sport you’re interested in.

You can rent surf boards, jet skis, fishing charters, kayaking, SUPs, etc.

When nothing else is enough there is also the opportunity to skydive onto the beach with Skydive Coastal Carolinas.
